In 1793 William Fairfield donated the land for the site of our present church, and the land around it for a cemetery Additional land to expand the cemetery was purchased in 1946.

In those early days, families in most cases looked after their own plots. Today, the cemetery is well kept and a caretaker is hired to cut the grass and to maintain the grounds. In the 1800s a single plot was $1.50, a small plot $8.00 and a large plot $10.00. In 1987 each grave cost $100.00. Today a portion of each grave cost is sent to the Perpetual Care Fund of the Diocese of Ontario.

The Anglican Registers (1787 - 1814) of Rev. John langhorn, Rector of Ernestown, are currently preserved in the Archives of the Synod Office of the Diocese of Ontario, in Kingston.
